Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts

Since 1910 the Boy Scouts of America have been providing a proven, character-building program to our nation's youth. The mission of the Scouts is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The three units of  219 (See Below) are part of the Skyway District, one of 8 districts that make up the  Greater Tampa Bay Area Council. We service the youth of Snell Isle and Shore Acres areas of Pinellas County. Troop 219 has been active for over 50 years and is a Scout Run Troop which follows the Patrol Method.   Each unit has an active youth enrollment, and a strong committed contingent of parent and adult volunteers.  We welcome you to come and check us out!

Cub Scouting

Boys and girls in first through fifth grades (or ages 7, 8, 9, or 10) may join a Cub Scout pack and be assigned to a den, which is usually made up of boys in a neighborhood who form a natural play group. Tiger Cub dens usually meet twice a month, and Cub Scout and Webelos Scout den meetings are usually held once a week. Cub Scouting emphasizes involvement between the scouts and their parents, adult leaders, and friends.

BSA Scouting

Scouting is available to boys and girls who have completed the fifth grade or who are 11 through 17 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness qualities among youth by focusing on a vigorous program of outdoor activities. The Troop meets on Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the Parish Center.

Venturing

Venturing is a program for young men and women ages 14 (who have completed the eighth grade) through 20. The program emphasizes team leadership, life-skills development, outdoor and high-adventure activity, and other areas of interest to the crew members.  For information on the Venture Crew, please contact John Petruccelli at 709-0381 or petros@tampabay.rr.com.
