The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by the Venerable Michael J. McGivney, a parish priest at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Haven, CT. The goal was to provide for widows and orphans of the parish. Over the next 130 years, the order has grown to over 1.8 million members in over 15,000 councils.
We are a Catholic, Charitable, Fraternal Organization in service to the Church, youth, family and community. Our founding principles are Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.
