Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by the Venerable Michael J. McGivney, a parish priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Haven, CT.  The goal was to provide for widows and orphans of the parish.  Over the next 130 years, the order has grown to over 1.8 million members in over 15,000 councils.

We are a Catholic, Charitable, Fraternal Organization in service to the Church, youth, family and community.  Our founding principles are Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.  We support the school and the various church ministries, as well as organizations which provide services to the poor, homeless, handicapped, and distressed throughout the community.  Included are:  Morningstar School, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Pinellas Hope, PARC, Special Olympics, Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center, and Wounded Warrior Project.

Every practicing Catholic man 18 years of age and older has something to contribute.  Even if you can only spare one or two hours a month.  Consider joining St. Raphael Council #10157.

Since 2009 the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program has provided over 1.5 million warm winter jackets to children who otherwise couldn’t afford them. This initiative reflects our commitment to charity and our mission to serve Christ by serving others. Together, we can help keep children warm – in body and in spirit.

Through the generosity of the Parishioners of St Raphaels, we were able to give away over 1000 coats to the neediest children in our Diocesan community.

The Knights of Columbus Council 10157 Santa Breakfast is a cherished parish tradition filled with good food, joyful fellowship and Christmas spirit. Families gathered to enjoy a hot breakfast while the children share their wish list and take photos with Santa.

The morning was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season together and support our parish and community outreach efforts. We invite you to relive the memories and see the smiles by visiting our photo gallery.

The Knights of Columbus Council 10157 Italian knight Dinner was an evening of authentic Italian cuisine, live entertainment and joyful fellowship. Parishioners enjoyed a delicious home-style meal while gathering with friends, parishioners, and members of the community. The event celebrates faith, family, and fraternity.

Proceeds of the 2026 dinner supported the St Raphaels Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program and the Santa Maria Mission Church. We invite you to relive the memories of the event by visiting our photo gallery.
